March 13, 2010

It is probably hard to understand that sea days are flying by.

Before you realise it, you have had three meals, a mid afternoon snack, singing Salve Regina on the aft deck, do something in the evening, and there it is: bed time!

I am nearly five weeks away, but it feels like I have only left yesterday! My tan is coming along nicely, my knee does not bother me that much. I think it has to do with the Tai massage.

Today there was Captain Story time. "Sailing around the world" in English. You could see a much younger Captain on board the Polish training vessel. It was a documentary about the trip from Poland to Australia. There was a camera crew on board, as well as two Australians.

You should have seen his face when the documentary started. It was glowing all over. He really must have enjoyed his time on the ship. I do enjoy having Captain Brunon on the ship, he has a very good sense of humour, can stand a joke, but will pull your legs whenever he can.

The story telling lasted from three till half past four. Much longer than anticipated and therefore the lecture from Knut about Cracks in the paint layer: what do they tell us, was postponed till a later day.

Tonight we had another Limbo night. Helen, one of the passengers, is so short, she can just walk underneath the pole for a very long time.

No surprise she already won it once!

Today there was also a sloopshop sale. On selected items like cardigans, breeze jackets and windbreakers, all in read colour, there was a 30% discount.

Another pleasant day went by like a breeze.

Take care,

Ineke
